IBM and Lenovo ThinkPads Timeline

The IBM ThinkPad name brand was found on all these models to the closing middle end of 2006, ending with the
T60/R60/X60 Plus X60T to keep customers buying a known name brand. The Last IBM ThinkPads fully produced under IBM were the R52, T43, X41 and X41 Tablet.

The R60/T60/X60/Z60 series are a combination of a IBM/lenovo ThinkPad. Finishing out the IBM ThinkPad name into the Lenovo name. During the sale of these models, the IBM name was Used Under Licence, and was the last models sold under the IBM name, and was the very last IBM ThinkPad sold.

The lenovo ThinkPads name brand "ThinkPad" started replacing the orginal IBM ThinkPad logo in late 2006, completely in 2007. Lenovo made some updates to the ThinkPad after the take over in 2005, changing the AC jack, Battery style, The keyboard coloring and even a new ThinkPad button called ThinkVantage "Same button as the Access IBM button", A new power on button along with the sound buttons colored silver. The bios screen even got a new look, (ThinkPad a Product of lenovo) The First lenovo ThinkPad started out with the IBM/Lenovo Z60m/Z60t and followed out in the ThinkPad line.

The circled areas is where you will find your series number.
I can't find my series number or letter? Some ThinkPads like the i Series will just say i Series in the circled areas in the image to the left. Flip over the laptop to the bottom and there will be a bar code in the way like "2640-EDU" View image below.

The Access ThinkPad/IBM was first introduced on the ThinkPad T20/R30/X20/A20 & select i series models. The Access IBM was last seen on the R52, T43, X41 and X41 Tablet models.
